We are very pleased to offer these many different opportunities to hear stories for adults. This initiative is a partnership between the VSOS, Banyen Books and Sounds and the Vancouver Public Library (Popular Reading).

Out of Chaos: creation myths and tales of transformation (with Abegael Fisher Lang and Philomena Jordan)

Philomena Jordan carries the gift of the Irish shenachie, well-known for her wild humour, spontaneous singing and rich tales of her upbringing in the west of Ireland.
Abegael Fisher-Lang is a Life Passages Celebrant, using myth, biography and poetry to create ceremonies that ‘light our way home’. www.mythopoetica.ca

This Watery World – Stories That Ebb and Flow
Born in Hydaburg, Alaska to a Haida father and a Cherokee mother, Woodrow Morrison (Kawan Sangaa) was trained since early childhood to be a History Keeper. Canoe stories abound in Haida Gwaii and the relationship with water is extreme. Woody is president of the VSOS and Wisdom of the Elders (Portland). He is a volunteer teacher and an active member of the traditional First Nations Dance Group – Git Hayetsk.
